Welcome to the website of Friends of Rotary Park!

The Friends of Rotary Park is a volunteer group that maintains the gardens at Port Washington's lakefront Rotary Park. Work schedules and equipment needed for each Rotary Park work day are posted on this site throughout the spring and summer. Volunteers aren't required to have extensive gardening skills - just be willing to learn. Most of the maintenance consists of weeding and removing spent flowers from the perennial plants although the park is mulched in late May. In spring, the perennial plants are divided and potted. These divisions are sold to fund the purchase of new perennials, shrubs, and trees that may be needed in the park.

The next group cleanup date is Saturday, June 13 from 9AM until 10:30. All volunteers need to bring gloves (pets are walked in the park) a weeding tool (narrow trowel, hori knife, etc.) and a container for weeds.

Drinks and snacks are provided. If you'd like to join the effort to keep Rotary Park looking its best, please let us know.  You can send an email to volunteer coordinator Elizabeth O'Connell for more information.
